However, it is not long before Edmund finds himself in Narnia. Of course Lucy's siblings do not believe her tale of visiting Narnia. Although Mr Tumnus is supposed to deliver any humans who happen upon Narnia to the White Witch, he decides to show Lucy the way back to the wardrobe and her own world. In this strange world Lucy befriends a faun, Mr Tumnus, and learns that in Narnia it is always winter and never Christmas. While hiding in a wardrobe filled with old furs, she finds herself walking into another world-the fantastic world of Narnia. To relieve the boredom, Lucy, the youngest child, suggests a game of hide-and-seek. With their father away fighting the war, the bewildered and frightened children bid farewell to their mother and board the train that will deliver them to the safety of a Professor's countryside manor.Įverything at the manor seems daunting, unfamiliar and incredibly boring. ![]() ![]() QUICKLY, the film version of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (Andrew Adamson, 2005) creates a sense of urgency in getting the four Pevensie children-Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy-out of London.
